Watching from the Stands: How BFC Can Deal with Ajaraie and NEUFC

After a Gameweek 3 break, Bengaluru FC face NorthEast United FC away from home. Both teams are flying—NEUFC have seven points (2W, 1D), while BFC carry a perfect six from two. Disclaimer : Just simple observations from watching the games, not a deep tactical breakdown. Here is my fan view on how NEUFC play and what BFC must do to win.
NEUFC's Attack: The Key Threats The Ajaraie Factor: The danger man. He loves dropping deep into midfield to kickstart moves, then either cuts inside to shoot or drifts wide to cross. The Supporting Cast: When Ajaraie roams Ethyan takes over as the central focal point. Moyano operates as the attacking No. 8 while Mayakkannan shields the backline and Macarton covers the empty pockets. Ninkovic also had a decent first start vs Odisha FC. Flank Battles: Jithin’s raw pace will test our full-backs. With Ryan running our flank NEUFC will likely start Pramveer at LB (like vs MBSG) and push Rabeeh to LM instead. Meanwhile, Nikhil Barla has sorted their long-time RB crisis behind an Eneko-led defence.
What BFC Need to Do Bench Shivaldo at Full-Back: He’s been great but facing Ajaraie, Jithin, Barla and Rabeeh is too risky. Pep needs any pairing from Roshan, Nikhil or Ricky for solid defending. Lock Down the Middle: Manuel and Menno must stay sharp to stop Ajaraie and Moyano from finding space between the lines and late runs from the midfield. Be Clinical Up Front: Borja has been lethal (+1.17 xG) but Ryan (-0.86) and Perovic (-0.89) are underperforming their xG. They must take their chances. Stick with Soham: Despite a quiet game vs CFC, he deserves to start. He will get his moments- he just needs to capitalise.
